Georgia has five geographic regions. This includes the Appalachian Plateau Region, Ridge and Valley Region, Blue Ridge Region, Piedmont Plateau Region, and Costal Plain Region. First off in the North Western Part of the state is the Appalachian Plateau. This is the smallest of the areas. It can also be referred to as the "TAG" corner. Next is the Ridge and Valley region. This region is located in the north west part of Georgia. This region can be called the carpet capital of the world. It also has low open valleys and ridges. The third region is called the Blue Ridge region. The highest and largest mountains are located here. Also, the Appalachian Mountains start here, in the North West part of Georgia. Next, we have the Piedmont Plateau. This is where Georgia's state capital ,Atlanta is located. The famous red Georgia clay can be found here. Last but not least there is the Costal Plains region. This is where all of southern Georgia is located. It also makes up a good 3/5 of Georgia. These are all of Georgia's regions with a few details.
