Charles vs Boyles
Charles:
- for a fixed amount of gas at a certain pressure, the volume of the gas changes in the same way that the temp. of the gas changes
- as the temp. increases, the volume increases
Boyles:
- relationship between the volume and pressure of a gas
-created in the 17th century
- as the gas increases, the volume decreases
- for a fixed amount f gas at common temp. the volume of the gas inversely related to the pressure
Law of Conservation of Matter:
- during a chemical change, the total mass of the materials formed is the same as the total mass of starting materials
Popcorn Lab:
Question- Does the mass of popcorn kernel change when the kernel gets popped.
Hypothesis- If we popcorn kernels, then the mass will change because it changes forms.
Materials:
1. popcorn
2. kernels
3.air popper
4. bowls
5. scale
