Climate has effected the development of Georgia. When it was first developed, European settlers thought that Georgia's mild temperatures and the good amount of rainfall made it a nice place to settle. The five regions have differing climates based on their features. For example, Blue Ridge region has a lot of rainfall, which also means it snows a lot because of its elevation. The Coastal Plains have mild temperatures and a good water supply which makes it good for growing crops such as peanuts and pecans or for the development of the fishing industry. In the Piedmont Plateau region, the climate has allowed for the development of housing and a large population. In conclusion, climate can effect how and where people settle and the type of industry that emerges there. |
